An Elgi is a poem of serious reflection typically a lament for the dead

This poem has 6 stanzas it is interesting because it is one line and in this one line it gives us a lot of information and it is a completely different way to end a poem as I have not seen this before and it tells us that the poem is reflected in one line and it takes away all the attention

The poet uses loads of detail because it gives effect also it shows us how much he cares and his feelings as I get an understanding of how he feel in that present moment

I think he did as he would not put so much effort and detail when he speaks about them if he did not

In my opinion he is referring to Greek mythology when he speaks about the river and he might be speaking about it as if they are in the other side in the underworld

I believe that the simile in stanza 4 is “the sky whitens as if lit by three suns” this is the simile as he uses the word or which is used in an simile
